2024 MotoGP™ in-season test dates confirmed

Dates for three days of official, in-season testing action can now be revealed

In-season tests for the MotoGP™ class throughout 2024 have now been confirmed! As previously announced, the premier class will have three days of in-season testing next season, bringing the total across the year to nine days of official tests.

This one day increase versus 2023 has been agreed with factories, teams, riders and official premier class tyre supplier Michelin in order to test a new front tyre specification ahead of its expected introduction in 2025. The 2024 in-season tests will all take place directly following the Grand Prix at the same venue.

Monday 29th April: Circuito de Jerez-Angel Nieto
Monday 3rd June: Autodromo Internazionale del Mugello
Monday 9th September: Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli

The three days of in-season action are in addition to the pre-season test dates already confirmed, so this is what the official test calendar for the premier class looks like in 2024:

As ever, a final day of testing will also take place following the season finale at the same circuit, which in 2024 will be the Circuit Ricardo Tormo in Valencia once again.

2024: a landmark season

Nine days of official tests add to our history-making 22 Grands Prix across 18 countries next season. That’s the first reason it’ll be a landmark season, but by no means the last! And it all starts THIS year, with the one-day test on November 28th in Valencia.

MotoGP™ will also celebrate its 75th anniversary next year. Motorcycle Grand Prix racing was the first motorsport World Championship, having begun in 1949, making this year’s season finale in Valencia the conclusion of 75 full years of racing. That’s something we will most definitely celebrate!

At the same time, the future is now as MotoGP™ is about to reach another milestone: the transition to sustainable fuel. That begins next season, first with fuel that must be a minimum of 40% of non-fossil origin. By 2027, it has to be 100% non-fossil origin across all classes.

With the first test for next season set to take place on the 28th of November, the future really is now… or almost! Make sure to tune in as Marc Marquez debuts with Gresini and Ducati, Pedro Acosta lands in MotoGP™ and more!
