Prima Pramac Racing... a door closed for Marc Marquez

The signing of Franco Morbidelli rules out one more option for the eight-time champ

Marc Marquez's bouquet of future options for the 2024 season is gradually becoming smaller. This Monday, one more piece of the 2024 MotoGP™ grid puzzle fell into place with the signing of Franco Morbidelli to Prima Pramac Racing.

In recent weeks, there has been much speculation about the possibility of seeing the eight-time World champion on a Ducati next year if he leaves the Repsol Honda Team, with whom he has one more year on his contract. Recently, there have been a couple of vacancies - the one most talked about being Gresini Racing MotoGP™. With the arrival of 'Franky', the door to Prima Pramac closes for Marc for 2024.

It is also worth remembering that at the Misano test, Marquez explained that he had several options for the future, keeping everyone on their toes by detailing that he had a "plan A, plan B and plan C." Understanding that remaining at Honda was still an option.

"I have the three plans, three very clear ideas; I know exactly what has to happen for each of them, so time will tell." Marquez then explained to the media that a decision will be announced in the near future: "There is not much time. There is a deadline. I will decide by India or Japan."
